Air France A380 Makes Emergency Landing in Canada due to Engine’s Disintegration Over Atlantic

The Air France A380, the world’s largest passenger plan, traveling from Paris to Los Angeles faced disintegration of one of its engines at 37,000 ft over the Atlantic. It made an emergency landing in Canada on Saturday after one of the four engines broke out in midair. The wide body airbus flew for an hour with the help of the remaining engines before landing in Canada. As the plan passed over Greenland, it was diverted and landed safely at a military airport in Goose Bay, eastern Canada. A passenger told that she heard a “boom” followed by a sudden drop in altitude. The double-decker plane was carrying 496 passengers and 24 crew members on board who all were evacuated with no injuries. Read more
